The PDF is uploaded so we can shrink it. The original is deleted after processing. The compressed file stays on your dashboard about 30 days.

Questions

Will text stay selectable?

Yes. Unlike image-based compressors, Ghostscript keeps text and vectors so you can still select, copy, and search content.

How do I get my file?

Follow it on your dashboard, then download when compression finishes.

What do the levels mean?

Extreme shrinks the most (screen), Balanced is recommended (ebook), and High quality keeps more detail (printer).

Is Compress PDF free?

Yes. Compress PDFs online for free after you sign in.

Will my PDF always get smaller?

Already optimized or text-only PDFs may shrink only a little. Image-heavy scans usually compress the most.

Do I need Ghostscript on my computer?

No. Compression runs on our servers. Upload, then download from your dashboard when ready.
